Residential options

Located on a 135-acre residential campus in the foothills of Oakland, California, we offer a variety of historic and contemporary housing options surrounded by natural beauty. Housing is available to incoming undergraduate students. All options offer wireless internet and laundry facilities.

Residence halls

All residence halls have recreation rooms and kitchens. All rooms are furnished with a regular twin bed, desk, dresser, bookcase, and chair per student. Housekeeping services are provided for the shared restrooms and residence hall common areas.

Orchard Meadow Hall

Orchard Meadow Hall consists of two separate wings connected by a large paneled-oak living room with tile floors. Many Orchard Meadow rooms offer large, shared balconies that take advantage of the temperate California weather and look out on a beautiful courtyard.

Warren Olney Hall

Warren Olney Hall gives you numerous opportunities to live with students from all walks of life and create bonds beyond the classroom. Special activities and programs bring students together, and the large recreation and TV rooms, kitchen, and lounges provide a comfortable setting for all.

The Hill Residence Halls: Ege Hall, Reinhardt Hall, and White Hall

The Hill Halls are comprised of three residence halls clustered together on the east side of campus. Proximity to one another makes this cluster a hub of social activity with a convenient location near the main dining hall on campus.

Mary Morse Hall

From its location atop Prospect Hill, students look out onto the Rhododendron Courtyard. The beautiful high-ceilinged living room is a favorite gathering spot for Mary Morse residents.

Apartments

All rooms in our apartments are furnished with a regular twin bed, desk, dresser, and chair per student. As a residential option designed for students seeking a more independent living situation, housekeeping services are not provided in our apartments.

Prospect Hill Apartments

Prospect Hill Apartments are situated atop one of the highest points on campus. Prospect Hill Apartments provide an independent living option of eight apartments, each housing six students in a combination of single and double bedrooms. Each apartment is furnished and has a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. An outdoor patio looks out on the beautiful nearby woods.

Courtyard Townhouses

Located on the hill just off the main campus entrance, the Courtyard Townhouses include three buildings—Clare Springs House, Vivian Stephenson House, and Joan Danforth House. The distinctive Craftsman-style apartments in each house include a choice of four or five bedrooms housing eight students. Each unit has a combination of single and double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and an adjoining dining room.

Underwood Apartments

The Underwood Apartments are a complex of three buildings located high above our Greek Theatre. Underwood offers a total of 12 two-bedroom apartments, each with one single and one double bedroom, housing 3 students. All units offer wonderful views and are only a five-minute walk from the center of campus.
